Targa Communities Come Together at National Night Out
Recently, several Targa Real Estate properties participated in a community engagement event called National Night Out. This national event aims at cultivating and building a positive relationship between law enforcement and neighbors in the community.

When Does the Event Happen?
National Night Out is an annual event that always occurs on the first Tuesday in August. Select locations as well as the entire state of Texas hold their events on the first Tuesday in October.
What Exactly is National Night Out?
How each community celebrates will look slightly different, but in general, National Night Out is a community celebration like an outdoor fair. There will be different fun activities for neighbors and families to participate in. Different members of law enforcement will attend as well. There are often various meet and greet opportunities as well as a chance to see and touch vehicles like police cars or fire trucks.
The goal is to embrace the community and law enforcement to forge a happy, triumphant relationship. The event is celebrated by millions of neighbors across the country every year.
How Can My Community Participate?
The first step to take for your neighborhood or residential community to participate is to register online. Registration is free, necessary to participate, and needed every year. Once you submit your information and provide a few basic details you will receive an email. The email will have a link to a resource guide for you as the event coordinator. Then, about two weeks later, you will receive a registration pack via USPS. The package will include additional organizational items.
You may also become a member, which is optional and costs $35 per year. Becoming a member gives you discounts at the online store and makes your group eligible to participate in the awards program.
